Aries embodies the initiation. He is generous, moral, and has physical courage, which, given to him by his ruling planet of Mars, offers him with physical strength ans stamina. Aries can be extremely intelligent and innovative, direct and forceful.
Aries is an initiator. He likes to get going, he likes to do – but that never guarantees that he will finish. He needs lots of praise and encouragement to keep going. Without this, he becomes anxiety-ridden and prone to failure.
Inside of Aries lurks an insecurity, a sense of inadequacy that often leads to extravagance, jealousy, or arrogance. The end result is disappointment and disillusionment. When Aries is troubled in this way, his physical courage, forcefulness, and directness become compulsive, even impulsive, as he gives little thought to his actions.

The urge to move is utmost to Aries, but he needs to learn to stand still, to stop and consider if there is, indeed, a reason to move. Since Aries is naturally fast, quick, and alert, he finds it hard to control his impulsiveness – as soon as a thought is in his brain, it's out of his mouth. He'll jump into the water and then realize he can't swim. He means well, but when things backfire, he gets anxious. If he holds back or tries to reconcile his impulses, he starts to feel guilty and then winds up in a bad funk.
Aries has an innate fear of rejection, which he often uses as a defense mechanism – he rejects for fear that he might be rejected. If he does not overcome this problem or receive positive stroking with the genuine care and love hr requires, he will feel incomplete.
Aries desires success, and if he is not successful, it is usually of his own doing. He lacks a sense of proportion. He becomes overly optimistic, extravagant, or makes well-intended but grandiose claims that he cannot always back up. Should his expectations not be met, emotional problems ensue.

Aries is youthful, and since, astrologically, he is a beginner, he is often naive, lacks insight, and is unable to correctly assess human nature. He needs to develop self-awareness, which is something that takes maturity, education, and reinforcement. His intability – this itch that makes him go from one thing to the next – can, with the development of self-awareness, make him more consistent, allowing him to bring ideas and projects to completion and, ultimately, achieve.
Overall, Aries is basically strong, formidable, and successful. If he overcomes the fear of rejection and becomes secure in his actions and accomplishments, he will meet his ultimate objectives and destiny head-on.
